Funding: Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling grant program, local government funds City Partners: City of Fort Lauderdale Solid Waste and Recycling program, Broward SWA Initial Cost: Medium Life-Cycle Cost: Medium ROI: Medium LOE: Low Social Impact: Low Strategic Priority Alignment: N/A Co - Benefits: Cost savings, improved waste management Performance Metrics: Waste generation total, tons waste diverted, percent plastic waste, contamination rates, diversion rate Implementation:  Set a near- and long-term target for City waste reduction.  Implement waste reduction and diversion education for City employees.  Benchmark existing programs for zero-waste municipal events and City operations.  Pilot a zero-waste event.  Partner with suppliers and haulers with lower carbon alternatives for waste management.
