The new luxury apartment residence contains 360,000 sf with 200 units and 13 floors above grade and three stories below grade. The ground floor has a mix of retail spaces, building amenities, including an outdoor terrace, pool and lounge area and large courtyard and expansive views of the U.S. Capitol and National’s Park. WSP provided MEP and Fire Protection services.

The Ampeer is a historic residence built in 1903. The building was renovated for use as a short-term residential building with the addition of a seven-story tower and courtyard. The challenges of the project’s historic nature helped drive the decision to utilize a high efficiency Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) System for HVAC engineering design.

The project is an eight story mixed-use development located in the 600 block of H Street, NE, Washington, DC. The program included 388,000 sf of residential space, including amenity areas with approximately 430 apartment units and 96,000 sf of retail on the first and second levels including a Whole Foods and 200,000 sf of parking on two levels below grade.
