2.8.1 Monroe County Monroe County Transit provides paratransit services in the unincorporated areas and the five municipalities, Islamorada, Layton, Key Colony Beach, Marathon, and Key West. There are no eligibility requirements to use the service; however, the service is geared toward individuals that are transportation-disadvantaged, such as needy, elderly, disabled people whose disability prevents them from using regular fixed-route or commuter transit vehicles. The current fare is $2 per one way trip ( exact change required), except for hardship clients. Non-refundable payment vouchers are also available in books of 20 one-dollar tickets for $20 (two tickets are required for each one-way trip). Seniors 60 years and older can ride MCT free of charge. 2.8.2 Miami-Dade County Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) contracts service through Americas Transportation to operating two bus routes connecting the Keys to the mainland,, MDT routes 301 Dade Monroe Express and 302 Card Sound Express.

Service span: Operates 7 days/week, with first trip leaving Miami (SW 344 St Park and Ride) at 5:00 AM and last trip arriving in Miami at 12:40 AM Service Characteristics: Route 301 operates 24 daily round trips between Miami to the following destinations in the Monroe County: • All 24 trips serve Tavernier (MM 87). One daily trip ends at Tavernier. • 23 trips serve Islamorada (MM 74). Route 301 : Dade- Monroe Express

Route 301 operates from MDT’s SW 344th Street Park-and-Ride lot in Florida City to Tavernier, Islamorada and Marathon via US 1.
