WSP is committed to promoting the conversion of devices or systems to run on electricity instead of a traditional fuel source like gasoline, diesel or natural gas. Electrification has become increasingly important in recent years due to concerns about climate change and the need to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. By using electricity generated from renewable sources (solar, wind or hydropower), electrification can significantly reduce carbon footprints. The utilization of more efficient technologies like electric vehicle motors can lead to dramatic GHG reductions even on the “dirty” grid. We believe that the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, buses, aircraft and other vehicles is essential to reducing transportation-related emissions and mitigating the effects of climate change. Our electrification services include feasibility studies and conceptual or detailed designs of next generation electrical infrastructure. We work closely with utility companies to provide both “to-the-meter” (TTM) and “behind-the-meter” (BTM) solutions to the most complex infrastructure challenges.
